- Deluxe²
- ~~~~~~~
-
- Tag Line Xpress installs automatically into Deluxe².
-
- There are two options you MUST change manually within Deluxe's
- configuration; FLAGS "Show message header in your editor" to NO;
- and SuperShell to YES. You should delete all the taglines stored
- by Deluxe² and enter them into TLX instead.
-
- If you experience double taglines with Deluxe², you can use the
- UNTAG.EXE utility provided with this archive. Within the Deluxe²
- Configuration file add NEWZIP.BAT before the compress command,
- e.g.
-
- Old Option> PKZIP -A
- New Option> \path\NEWZIP.BAT PKZIP -A
-
- TLX will create a batch file called NEWZIP.BAT in the mail
- reader directory, you should edit it and ensure that the file

-
- \path\UNTAG %4
- %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
-

-
- Advanced Information
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This information is provided only to satisfy curiosity, and
- explain the process by which TLX works.
-
- The following options are automatically modified by TLX within
- the Deluxe² configuration:
-
- Editors - C:\path\TLX //BC f * %O
- Show message header - NO (manually)
- SuperShell - YES (manually)
-
-
- Jabber
- ~~~~~~
-
- Tag Line Xpress installs automatically into version 1.2 of
- Jabber. Other versions have not been tested with TLX and are not
- guaranteed to work.
-
- If you experience double taglines with Jabber, you can use the
- UNTAG.EXE utility provided with this archive. Within the Jabber
- Configuration file add NEWZIP.BAT before the compress command,
- e.g.
-
- Old Option> {ZIP=PKZIP !}
- New Option> {ZIP=\path\NEWZIP.BAT PKZIP !}
-
- TLX will create a batch file called NEWZIP.BAT in the mail
- reader directory, you should edit it and ensure that the file
- reads:
-
- \path\UNTAG %2
- %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
-
- If you have changed your compress commands, change the UNTAG %
- number to the parameter for the replies message file that is
- compressed by the packer.
-
-
- Advanced Information
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This information is provided only to satisfy curiosity, and
- explain the process by which TLX works.
-
- The following options are automatically modified by TLX within
- the Jabber configuration file:
-
- SWAP=Yes
- SWAPEMS=Yes
- QUOTE_QUOTE=No
- QUOTE_REPLY=No
- REPLYHEADER=Yes
- PREPROCESS=\path\TLX //BC q C:\path\ @QUOTE@
- POSTPROCESS=\path\TLX //BC t C:\path\ @QUOTE@
- TAG_QUERY=Never
-
- The batch file TLX_RUN.BAT contains the following:
-
- \path\TLX //BC f * %1
-
- TLX simply ties into the PRE and POST PROCESS options in Jabber.
- However, there is apparently a small bug within v1.1 that does
- not add the required message header to the reply file before TLX
- can quote it - hence the quote enhancer does NOT work! When this
- problem is fixed by the author, TLX will quote your messages. In
- the meanwhile - if you use an external editor you can add the
- TLX command line to a batch file to execute before calling your
- editor; or assign an F key if you use the internal editor.
-
-
- Speed Read
- ~~~~~~~~~~
-
- Tag Line Xpress installs automatically into Speed Read (Speed).
-
- If you experience double taglines with Speed, you can use the
- UNTAG.EXE utility provided with this archive. From within Speed,
- modify the Configuration option Compression Prgs. and add NEWZIP
- before the compress command, e.g.
-
- Old Option> PKZIP -m -u %s
- New Option> COMMAND.COM /c \path\NEWZIP.BAT PKZIP -m -u %s
-
- TLX will create a batch file called NEWZIP.BAT in the mail
- reader directory, you should edit it and ensure that the file
- reads:
-
- \path\UNTAG %5
- %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
-
- If you have changed your compress commands, change the UNTAG %
- number to the parameter for the replies message file that is
- compressed by the packer.
-
-
- Advanced Information
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This information is provided only to satisfy curiosity, and
- explain the process by which TLX works.
-
- The following options are automatically modified by TLX within
- the SpeedRead configuration:
-
- General Setup - Quoting - Initials NONE
- Quote String BLANK
- External Programs - Editor -
- \path\TLX //BC f * %s
- Toggles/Options - Swapping ON
- Taglines OFF (5)
- Reply Header ON
-
- Optionally, you can install TLX as an External Tagline Manager
- if you do not wish to use the Quote enhancer and signature
- features of TLX.
-
- You have to modify the following manually within the SpeedRead
- configuration (do NOT install TLX automatically):
-
- General Setup - Tagline Mgr -
- \path\TLX //BC g * %s
- Tag Ret. File TLX.TAG
-
- where \path\ is the path to TLX's config and database.
-
- You can only call TLX AFTER you edit your message since TLX
- needs to read your message to make tagline suggestions.
-
-
- MegaReader
- ~~~~~~~~~~
-
- TLX installs automatically into MegaReader.
-
- Note that since MegaReader uses a non-standard message header
- format, the TLX quote enhancer will not work. However the
- tagline management capabilities of TLX are not affected.
-
- You have to be using the internal editor with the default
- configuration. When you are done editing, press ALT-S (for Spell
- Check) and MegaReader will execute TLX instead which adds the
- tagline for you. If you are using a spell checker, you will have
- to edit the batch file TLX_RUN.BAT and add it manually before
- the TLX command line, and both the spell checker and TLX will
- work. If you are using an EXTERNAL editor, MegaReader does NOT
- access the Spell Checker batch file! You will have to edit the
- external editor batch file to include the TLX command line after
- the editor is called. You should leave the Spell Checker swap
- option as YES, giving TLX more memory to operate in.
-
- MegaReader does not allow it's tagline to be disabled if it is
- unregistered. And it is not possible to use the UNTAG utility
- with MegaReader due to the method in which it calls PKZIP. If
- you are experiencing double taglines in your replies, you will
- have to manually fix them by the following process:
-
- 1> UnZIP the reply packet PKUNZIP packet.REP;
- 2> Type UNTAG packet.MSG;
- 3> ZIP the reply packet PKZIP packet.REP packet.MSG
-
- This can be achieved automatically with a simple batch file:
-
- @ECHO OFF
- PKUNZIP %1.REP
- UNTAG %1
- PKZIP %1.REP %1.MSG
-
- and execute this batch file with the packet name (NO extension)
- on the command line, it extracts the reply file, corrects the
- double tagline problem, and then compresses it again.
-
- Advanced Information
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This information is provided only to satisfy curiosity, and
- explain the process by which TLX works.
-
- The following options are automatically modified by TLX within
- the MegaReader configuration:
-
- Spell Checker - \path\TLX t * MESSAGE.TXT
-
- where \path\ is the path to TLX's config and database.
-
-
- Blue Wave
- ~~~~~~~~~
-
- Tag Line Xpress installs automatically into Blue Wave.
-
- If you experience double taglines with Blue Wave, you can use
- the UNTAG.EXE utility provided with this archive. From within
- Blue Wave, modify the Configuration option ARCHIVERS and add
- NEWZIP before the compress command, e.g.
-
- Old Option> C:\ZIP\PKZIP.EXE @F @I
- New Option> \path\NEWZIP C:\ZIP\PKZIP.EXE @F @I
-
- TLX will create a batch file called NEWZIP.BAT in the mail
- reader directory, you should edit it and ensure that the file
- reads:
-
- \path\UNTAG %3
- %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
-
- If you have changed your compress commands, change the UNTAG %
- number to the parameter for the replies message file that is
- compressed by the packer.
-
-
- Advanced Information
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This information is provided only to satisfy curiosity, and
- explain the process by which TLX works.
-
- The following options are automatically modified by TLX within
- the Blue Wave configuration:
-
- MISCELLANEOUS: ENTER/REPLY OPTIONS: When to Quote replies = YES
- : Insert quote header = YES
- MISCELLANEOUS: TAGLINE CONFIGURATION: Selection = NONE
- DIRECTORIES: Editor file path: = \path\TLX_RUN.BAT
- STRINGS: Quote Header String: =
- ::To: @T From: @F Subj: @S ::@N----------------------@N
-
- The batch file TLX_RUN.BAT contains the following:
-
- \path\TLX f * %1
-
-
- 1st Reader
- ~~~~~~~~~~
-
- Tag Line Xpress installs automatically into 1st Reader.
-
- Note that since 1st Reader uses a non-standard message header
- format, the TLX quote enhancer will not work. However the
- tagline management capabilities of TLX are not affected.
-
- If you experience double taglines with 1st Reader, you can use
- the UNTAG.EXE utility provided with this archive. From within
- 1st Reader, modify the Setup option PACK and add NEWZIP before
- the compress command, e.g.
-
- Old Option> @API$(5)QZIP %1 %2 /NOCLS /CURSOR_OFF
- New Option> \path\NEWZIP PKZIP %1 %2
-
- Note that the classic PKZIP program has been used instead of
- QZIP that comes with 1st Reader.
-
- TLX will create a batch file called NEWZIP.BAT in the mail
- reader directory, you should edit it and ensure that the file
- reads:
-
- \path\UNTAG %3
- %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
-
- If you have changed your compress commands, change the UNTAG %
- number to the parameter for the replies message file that is
- compressed by the packer.
-
-
- Advanced Information
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This information is provided only to satisfy curiosity, and
- explain the process by which TLX works.
-
- No modifications are done to the 1st Reader configuration by
- TLX. A new batch file is created called $$SPELL.BAT (if this
- file exists, it is appended to). 1st Reader calls this batch
- file automatically after each reply is entered ONLY IF you
- select to SPELL CHECK the message! You MUST choose to do so in
- order to use TLX!
-
- TLX also creates a batch file TLX_RUN.BAT containing the
- following, if you choose to use an external editor you must edit
- this file and enter your editor name, and also modify the 1st
- Reader configuration with this batch file as the external
- editor:
-
- Your Editor %1 %2 %3 %4 %5
- \path\TLX t * %1
-
-
- RoboMail
- ~~~~~~~~
-
- Tag Line Xpress installs automatically into RoboMail.
-
- Note that since the internal editor does not allow any method to
- 'hook' external programs, TLX can only work with an EXTERNAL
- editor! When installed, TLX will use the default editor name
- that it finds in the RoboMail configuration, if this is wrong or
- if you change your editor, make the change ONLY in the TLX
- configuration (System Settings, Editor) - NOT in RoboMail!
-
- There is a small bug within RoboMail v1.30 that add a message
- header to replies. Due to this bug, if you attempt to re-edit a
- message, TLX will be forced to requote the message.
-
- If you experience double taglines with RoboMail, you can use the
- UNTAG.EXE utility provided with this archive. From within
- RoboMail, modify the Configuration option Archive Manupilation
- Create ZIP and add NEWZIP before the compress command, e.g.
-
- Old Option> PKZIP.EXE @T @S
- New Option> NEWZIP PKZIP.EXE @T @S
-
- TLX will create a batch file called NEWZIP.BAT in the mail
- reader directory, you should edit it and ensure that the file
- reads:
-
- \path\UNTAG \path\HOLD\*.MSG
- %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
-
- RoboMail uses a file list to pass parameters to PKZIP, this
- NEWZIP batch file should work for most configurations.
-
-
- Advanced Information
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This information is provided only to satisfy curiosity, and
- explain the process by which TLX works.
-
- The following options are automatically modified by TLX within
- the RoboMail configuration:
-
- XMS Swap = Y
- EMS Swap = Y
- External Editor = \path\TLX //BC f * %S %T
- Editor RAM = 640
- Original File = ORIGINAL.TXT
- Reply File = REPLY.TXT
- Quote Style = Full text quoted
- Quote Prefix =
- Taglines = Disabled
- Fido Taglines = Disabled
-
- TLX supports the RoboMail 'Tag-n-quote' system. When TLX
- installs itself automatically, it forces RoboMail to quote the
- entire message. If you prefer to use the 'Tag-n-quote' system,
- simply change RoboMail's configuration (Quoting Options) to
- REFORMAT TAGGED LINES; this will make TLX quote only the lines
- that you tag with the space bar within RoboMail. Remember, if
- you do not tag any lines, the quote box will be empty!
-
-
- Silver Xpress
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- Tag Line Xpress installs automatically into Silver Xpress.
-
- If you experience double taglines with Silver Xpress, you can
- use the UNTAG.EXE utility provided with this archive. From
- within Silver Xpress, modify the Configuration option PACKERS
- and add NEWZIP before the compress command, e.g.
-
- Old Option> $PKZIP -M !
- New Option> $\path\NEWZIP PKZIP -M !
-
- TLX will create a batch file called NEWZIP.BAT in the mail
- reader directory, you should edit it and ensure that the file
- reads:
-
- \path\UNTAG %4
- %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
-
- If you have changed your compress commands, change the UNTAG %
- number to the parameter for the replies message file that is
- compressed by the packer.
-
